Monet in Pavia

One thing that we knew we wanted to do in Pavia was to go to the Monet exhibit... being held from mid-September through mid-December.

The exhibit is in the basement of a castle! (It was a weird set-up... they made it like a maze inside and very dark... but pretty cool.)

First, there were some sketches that Monet did. ...The description (some were in English as well as Italian) said that he sketched first, before beginning to paint:

"With what I make from my paintings I cannot hope to earn

what is needed for the life we are leading in Vetheuil." - Claude Monet

...And then I was told not to take photos  : P
